Legacy of the Dark Kind

Blood Tears is the first of a series of books about the Dark Kind, beautiful, forever young, amoral and ferocious blood drinkers.

The Dark Kind are not supernatural but creatures of flesh, blood and strong emotions. They are not human, they are not the Undead. There are no bats, coffins, capes or stakes in the Legacy series. Nor are there Hammer House of Horror virgins with heaving cleavages.
Instead, it is intriguing, complex yet tautly written and pacey saga spanning the lives of the last scattered survivors of the Dark Kind and the humans they encounter in their fight to stay alive in a hostile world.

Blood Tears tells the story of Jendar Azrar, the last warlord of the Dark Kind.
What if you had the chance to live, forever young and handsome but in humiliating isolation? Or accept inevitable death, openly confronting your enemies. That is the dilemma facing Prince Azrar.
When a foreign child is abandoned by her family to die in Isolann’s wolf-ridden forests, she is taken to live under Azrar’s protection as his ward. The strange ability that the girl possesses, a power that so terrified her own people, could be the only hope for Azrar’s survival.

Blood Lament is Jazriel’s story. Vain, hedonistic and not too bright, living on his reckless courage, beauty and seductive charm. But he is haunted by the twin demons of optimism and hope. When these are vanquished, can anything prevent his spiral of self-destruction?
“The reanimated corpse of a suicidal, junkie male whore vampire.” Jazriel’s description of himself. Others opinion about him is far more colourful and explicit! With the Dark Kind’s future hanging in the balance, the unlikely pairing of a dissolute wreck of a blood drinker and a feisty, argumentative vampire-hating human woman could be their only hope.

Blood Alliance will be when the Dark Kind finally discover why they were created. Humanity learns it is under a terrible threat but not from the vampires that have preyed on mankind from the darkness of night. Something is coming, something that other races have been unable to stop, their worlds left as lifeless, sterile spheres in the uncaring darkness of space. Can two mortal enemies find some common ground against a threat that appears overwhelming, insurmountable?

Blood Legend is a prequel, taking the reader back in time, to the era when the Dark Kind nobility ruled the earth from their vast palaces of marble and granite. And the remarkable human princess who is prepared to sacrifice her life to save her people by making a political marriage to Dezarn, a fearsome Vampire King. This one is for Azrar fans!

Blood Destiny is still in the deep recesses of Raven’s imagination!

If you can’t get enough of Jazriel, he is making a guest appearance in the fourth book in the Sea Witch series by Helen Hollick. The book will be called ‘On the Account’ and is due to be published in 2008. Check this website or Helen’s www.helenhollick.co.uk for future details.
